Hello & Welcome!
My name is Kayleen Scheck and I teach K-4 Reading and 3-4 Math for Lewiston-Altura Elementary School! I am so excited to be working with your child! I enjoy getting to know each and every one of them! It is also my hope that I will get to know their families as well, until then, here is a bit about me:
I grew up in Rosemount, MN (southern suburb of the twin cities), where I was involved in soccer, marching band, girl scouts, softball, and leadership activities. After high school graduation I went to Northwestern College (in St. Paul, MN) -- after 1 year, I transferred to Winona State University. There I got involved in Residence Life, I was an RA for many years, and was very involved in on-campus activities. This is also where I met my husband Ethan. He also loves the Cardinal Community and is a 9th & 10th grade History teacher at the high school. You may also see him referee sports games, drive bus, or coach for the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team! (#GoCardinals!).
We both like to find communities we love and get as involved as we can! We also have a little boy named Easton (who turns 2 in November). The three of us reside in Houston, MN on a family farm and love to drive in the woods of our land. When I am not outside with my boys I am inside making crafts, selling Color Street (nail polish), shopping, trying new recipes, hanging with friends/family, or reading a book.
I am so eager to grow with your child; we are going to have such a fun year filled with lots of learning. I believe math is important, in order to build basic skills to use throughout life. Since I love to read, I hope to also stir an interest in reading amongst others. My favorite book is, “You Are Special”. What’s yours?
On the left hand side of this page, there are also a few other pages/links with tools to use at home to help your child.

Mrs. Scheck
