In its continuing effort to improve the quality of education in the Lewiston-Altura Public Schools, the district realizes that gifted students, identified by professional, qualified persons, are those who have demonstrated outstanding abilities and are capable of high performance.
Students capable of this high performance are those who demonstrate productive or potentially productive abilities in any of the following areas: general intellectual activity, specific academic aptitude, creative thinking, leadership ability, visual and performing arts, psychomotor ability.
These students will be encouraged to maximize their potential by participating in programs and services that match their unique characteristics and needs.
