Matthew Wilmes teaches vocal and classroom music at Lewiston-Altura High School. He earned his  bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities in 2000. He has been teaching at Lewiston-Altura Public Schools since 2007 and directs plays, leads professional development, and is an activist in his local teachers' union. In 2018, he earned a master's degree in organizational leadership from Winona State University.Outside of school, Wilmes attends St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston. He is involved with the statewide educators' union Education Minnesota. He also enjoys traveling, attending classical music concerts, and continuing to hone his teaching craft through further education and research. |
