Welcome!
Mrs. Nickelotti
This will be my 16th year teaching at LAHS! My first six years in the district, I supported students as the 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts teacher. The last nine years, I have held the role of Reading Specialist and Interventionist for Grades 7-12. This year, I will be supporting students through intervention, and teaching the following high school electives: 9th Grade Orientation, Leadership, and College Reading & Writing. I am fortunate to work with students of all abilities, at all grade levels!
Background: In 2005, I earned my bachelor’s degree in English Educations from UW-La Crosse, and I earned a M.A. in Literacy from Saint Mary’s University in 2009.
I am from La Crescent, MN, and I currently live in Nodine, MN, near my husband’s (Jeremy) family dairy farm. We have two kids (Joey and Julia, 9 yrs old - they are twins!) who are in 3rd Grade this school year. When I am not crazy busy with school stuff, I love making memories with our family and friends. I enjoy cooking and baking, going for walks on our back-country roads, working out, reading (especially Historical Fiction), crocheting, and napping.
This school year, my goal is to be very intentional with my teaching – I want to provide relevant and purposeful learning experiences for each of my students. I am looking forward to learning how to best utilize Schoology, along with other technology resources we have at LAHS. Here's to a great school year!
